The first picture is a church. The second is a Masonic Lodge, the difference is seating in a lodge is always on the north and south not in the center of the room as in a church. There will be no movement between the altar and the east. Anyone approaching the east will do so from the side but will not break the contact between the east line and the Bible.

by username inok. when i first looked at the cover of this issue of awake i was instantly struck on how creepy it looked.
my first impressions were the picture looked almost masonic in nature.
well, further investigation has led me to another picture that shows a grand masonic hall.

The Borg has given up!!!!
by Crazyguy init's become obvious in the last few days that the borg is done, done giving one dime over to the membership of the organization.
they know or have been told that it's a waste of time to spend money trying to recruit new members so their cutting all out lays of money in this regard to the bone.
they will continue to spend money where they can make a prophet, keeping the ones in, not thinking and donating.

I am not saying for sure these are all possible but any what ifs:
1. Brooklyn was financed top dollar at old say 1990's values and basically they have probably had to short sale the property.
2. They were most definitely counting on some significant financing on their big lakeside resort BUT now that it is a toxic dump site there is no financing in sight.
3. Add to #1 & #2 say maybe a few of their major donors did not OBEY during the ARC and they just figured out all the lying and child abuse and no longer want to be apart of Jehovah Witnesses.

WingCommander, I was going to say what you said but in a gentler way but I must admit I prefer your way!
Some of these recent threads I have absolutely no clue how anyone lasted beyond one month being a JW clothing, what you can and cannot do, people spying on you 24/7, give me a break.
Forty plus years ago this Rebel of a woman entered the business world and was not afraid of cleaning house and stepping on toes and I took down a few men who were forced into early retirement or outright fired for misbehaving. I cannot believe there are still women today who will allow men to walk all over them as reported on this board.

Actually, I was trying to take care of her in my home till the County Sheriff and Social Services took me for a little walk one day and insisted that I place her somewhere for MY safety. See she would beat me up and everyone in my house then SHE would call 911 & tell them I was the Mafia holding her hostage.
She even beat up an EMT driver one day who was trying to take her to the hospital because he said the wrong thing to her.

We are on the east coast of the US into our 4th year of paying $6,000 per month for a shared room in a lock down unit at a nursing facility for my mother. She is a flight risk. -

James, for each of us it is different. I can only tell you how God and I communicate. Music is very big for me as I feel those are the special gifts that he has given. First you understand that God gives each of us a special gift in life to share with everyone, mine is caring for people.
I listen to a lot of Gospel music, when I reach low or high points in my life I will drive to the coastline and watch the sunrise (God painting).
I also like long walks to enjoy God's nature. All of my homes I have purchased have been on conservations so I can sit outside and enjoy God's nature the trees and all the animals.
If you look around you can see God's handy work every where sometimes in people you meet.

i have been posting always using the uc browser, then decided to try chrome on an android phone and found that most of my posts are unreadable!!.

I unfortunately can relate to alot of the abuse stories told here as I was raised by a single alcoholic mother who was both physically and verbally abusive. It show ed me the kind of mother I did not want yo be. Then I married a verbally abusive husband. I raised 2 children with learning disabilities so I became a child's advocate for both of them to make sure they got the education that they deserved, as I put education as a very high priority. I quickly learned that many kids were not getting this service so I started advocating for friends kids. School administrators knew that I knew the laws so when I showed up with parents their attitudes would change and OH Yes we will test your child according to the law. Funny how that works.
I am now in my 60s but even in my 20s my name says it all, I am a Rebel and a Fighter. If I had been a JW first time someone would have touched a child in a KH would have been the last time. I have gotten men fired from position of authority in companies I worked for. I have threatened companies with discrimination suits for statements "well, he is a man he deserves to be paid more". I won that one and the man saying that was forced into retirement. I assisted in putting a man in prison for 15 years for sexual abuse of 3 children, he would have gotten more but he plea bargained.
My heart goes out to everyone of you who have lived through this nightmare of a cult. I so regret the day I gave the Elder my phone number but I make a point now if I see literature being handed out to ask 3 questions then I remind them the 10 commandments says though shall not lie. They leave in a hurry. Funny they never return to that site ever again! !!
